About Us

The Problem

Food wastage accounts for 1.3 billion tonnes annually, caused among others things, by an inefficient distribution system, fragmented market, poor post harvest management. Most of the distribution occur through small independent retail shops of the informal market. Despite their critical importance, these shops receive no direct distribution and are forced to source their own inventory which includes doing 5am trips to the local market. This results in low product availability, lost revenue for the shops, and huge wastage for the farmers who produce them.

The Solution

Farmoly provides farmers with a simple, consistent, and reliable distribution channel to meet the demands of the informal market. With our technology, we collate data from vendors and farmers and are able to match demand and supply as it fluctuates. Our team of independent delivery agents, services a number of shops across Lagos while capturing critical data from farmers and on each outlet. Farmers earn 20% more by using our service, and vendors spend 25% less on sourcing. At Farmoly, we are on a mission to transform the supply chain, beginning with independent retail outlets and gradually conquering the rest of Africa.
